Alcoholic Energy Drinks: Education Campaign

Our Alcoholic Energy Drinks Campaign targets youth and parents about the dangers and risks of alcoholic energy drinks consumption among youth, and the increased risk for alcohol-related injury. The posters and signage are given to retail outlets to educate the public and to increase awareness about these products.

Prenatal Substance Abuse: Education Campaign

The Prenatal Substance Abuse Campaign is a result of the collaboration between Ventura County Behavioral Health, Human Services Agency and Public Health. The brochure, in both English and Spanish, is a substance abuse prevention campaign targeting young women who may be at risk for substance use during pregnancy. These brochures are distributed in clinics, programs and other venues throughout the County.

Social Host Laws: Billboard Campaign

Our Social Host Ordinance Billboard Campaign is targeted to youth, parents and the community to educate the public about the Social Host Ordinances throughout Ventura County. These ads include phone numbers to report a loud party involving underage drinking. The billboard launched in May 2011 on Highway 33 in Ojai.

Social Host Laws: Radio Campaign

The Social Host Laws Radio Campaign was launched in spring of 2011 to highlight the issues related to underage & binge drinking, and to home parties in particular. There are “social host laws” in Ventura County that hold adults responsible for parties where alcohol is served to underage people. The adult who owns or rents the property is responsible, no matter who provides the alcohol. The fines vary by community, but are up to $2,500. Listen to our campaigns.
